Most of the substances that causes or triggers allergic rhinitis can be listed below:

  • Grass
  • Pollen
  • Trees
  • Cat fur
  • Other pets like dogs
  • Chemical substances 

Home remedies to get rid of allergic rhinitis:

Allergies occur in 2  types : All year round allergies, and seasonal allergies.

The symptoms of allergies are manifested in sneezing, congestion in both eyes and nose, runny nose as well as itching in the nose.

There are many ways to get rid of these allergies effectively and quickly which we will mention in details below:

 #1  Ginger:

Ginger helps in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, because it is rich in a distinct group of antibiotics, specifically that resist viruses and infections, and helps to get rid of the symptoms associated with allergies, such as rhinitis and runny nose, in addition to headaches and it also strengthen the immune system

Recipe

 a) One spoon of gated ginger and mix it with a teaspoon of clove powder,and a teaspoon of finely ground cinnamon in a cup of water.

b) Mix the previous ingredients well,then boil them on medium flame.

c) Leave the resulting mixture on the fire for at least five minutes until completely boil, lift it off the fire, leave it aside for a minute,leave them to cool, and then filter them.

d) Add a teaspoon of lemon juice and a little liquid honey, and mix again until the ingredients overlap.

e ) Drink three times a day during the allergy season for effective results.

You can also try other ways like:

  • Chewing a portion of fresh ginger, helps to get rid of allergic rhinitis.
  • Add ginger to the food as a kind of spices.

 

 #2  Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is an effective treatment for allergic rhinitis as it is an antibiotic and anti-histamine. It can help reduce the severity of symptoms such as frequent sneezing, nasal congestion, headaches and others. In addition, it plays a key role in regulating the immune response in the body.

Recipe

a) Add 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to a cup of warm water.

b) Add a teaspoon of honey and lemon juice to the previous mixture.

c) Stir the ingredients together well

d) Drink it 3 times a day during the allergy season or until you feel better.

 #3  Garlic

Garlic is one of the best home remedies that have great ability to treat various nose problems;

Garlic contains quercetin, a natural antihistamine that can be very effective in the treatment of allergic rhinitis,and also contain properties that help to enhance the performance of the immune system.

Recipe

a) Chew 2 to 3 cloves of raw garlic daily to fight various symptoms of allergic rhinitis.

b) Use garlic powder or raw garlic in cooking.

People with a history of allergies can benefit from taking garlic supplements daily during the allergy season ; you should consult your doctor to determine the correct dose.

 

 #4  Turmeric Powder

To reduce the risk of any kind of allergies the turmeric is one of the best substances since it is a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent with immunosuppressive properties. It can help reduce allergic rhinitis symptoms such as congestion, cough, dry mouth and sneezing.

Recipe

a) Mix 3 tablespoons of turmeric and three tablespoons of liquid honey with each other and keep the mixture in a very well sealed container

b) Take one teaspoon of the resulting mixture twice a day during allergy season, and also you can drink a cup of warm milk with a small amount of turmeric daily during the allergy season.

 #5  Saline Solution

This is  one of the easiest ways to treat allergies 

Recipe

a) A half teaspoon of salt, a brush of baking soda, into two cups of warm water.

b) Seal one side of the nose and pull the solution using the other side. The solution comes out of the nose gently, until the excess mucus is finally removed.

c) Repeat the previous steps with the other side of the nose.

To quickly get rid of mucus repeat this method several times a day

Note that the solution also cab be inhaled .

 

 #6  Steam

This is also another one of the easiest ways to treat allergic rhinitis at home

Recipe

a) Boil one liter of water in a big pot, then add some drops of essential oils, such as peppermint, tea tree oil, peritoneal oil, and eucalyptus oil.

b) Put your head in the pot containing the boiling water and aromatic oil by placing the head on a suitable distance of steam, and cover it with a towel for 5-10 minutes.

c) Repeat this method on a daily basis,until the allergy goes away. This method is effective in relieving the mucus in the nasal passages. The steam helps relieve and resist allergy symptoms, such as runny nose, sneezing, and sore throat.

 

 #7  Nettle Plant

It is one of the most natural herbs used to get rid of allergic rhinitis, because it contains a wide range of anti-histamine and anti-infections , and it helps to get rid of symptoms associated with allergies such as rhinitis, itching and sneezing, as follows:

Recipe

a) Add an amount of nettle dried leaves, equivalent to large full spoon, and mix it with a glass of warm water.

b) Cover the mixture and leave for five minutes and then filter it.

c) Add some honey after filtering

d) Take it two or three times a day until the symptoms disappear.

Nettle supplements can also be taken (600 mg daily for one week), and consult your doctor first because this herb may interfere with some medications.

Note: Nettles are not recommended for pregnant women and young children.

 #8  Essential Oils

Is one of the oldest treatments used to get rid of irritants that cause allergic rhinitis and harmful toxins.

Recipe

Mix a tablespoon of coconut oil with the same amount of sesame oil, use the mixture as a minimum of 15 minutes, then wash the mouth with warm water at last, and repeat the process every morning for several months.
